Graphite
Description
Sullivan graphite lube comes in a squeeze bottle with an extension tube applicator.
What is graphite lube used for?
The graphite used as an additive to lubricating grease can effectively improve the resistance to compression and wear, and is especially suited for lubricating mechanical equipment and railway wheeltracks with high loads. Therefore, graphite is often mixed with high-viscosity mineral oil to synthesize grease.
The greatest benefit to using graphite (rather than oil) is that the graphite leaves no sticky residue that may later attract dust. This is because the lubricating properties of graphite lie in its weak covalent bonds that allow the layers of graphite to slide on top of one another with very little resistance.
